St. Andrews Society of Madison Presents: Burns Night
Join us for a Burns Supper hosted at Breese Stevens Field: Forward Club.
On January 25th the Forward Club will echo with the sights, sounds, and sips of Scotland as the St Andrew’s Society of Madison will again host a Burns’ Night!
You absolutely do not have to be Scottish to attend, but must love the skirl of the pipes, the colorful swish of the tartan kilts and the rolling burr of the poetry of Scotland’s national poet whose birthday is traditionally celebrated at the end of January. What better way to escape the January doldrums than to escape to bonnie Scotland for an evening?
Tickets include dinner, a dram of whiskey and loads of Scottish entertainment: pipers and drummers, Highland dancing, folk singing, and even games for all!

Cheshire Cat Comedy Presents...Kimchi Fried Comedy: A Stand-Up Comedy Show
Korean-American comedian and producer Josh Glen cooks up a custom cocktail of comics at Breese Stevens Field's flamingo-themed Forward Club bar space. Instead of the mustard, mayonnaise, and marmalade often found in stand-up comedy showcases, Kimchi Fried Comedy features hearty helpings of chocolate, chutney, and chorizo.

Cheshire Cat Comedy Presents...Soul Food Comedy with Headliner Arlieta Hall
Josh Glen, the producer of "Kimchi Fried Comedy", cooks up a custom cocktail of comics for Black History Month celebrating Blackness, laughter, and damn good time.
With headliner ARLIETA HALL:
Arlieta Hall is a host, actress, improviser, stand-up comedian, writer, Certified Dementia Communication specialist, and filmmaker from Chicago. She is one of The Second City NBC Bob Curry Fellowship recipients. Arlieta also co-starred as Sadie on Showtime’s The CHI episodic. She is also a co-producer of the popular comedy variety show My Best Friend is Black. Arlieta was a caregiver for her father who died from Alzheimer’s disease. She took the power of “Yes, and...” to communicate with him and used their story to make her first feature documentary “Finding Your Laughter.” Her film was one of ten documentaries selected to participate in The New York Gotham Documentary Feature Lab, which is one of the US film industry’s most prestigious labs.
Prior to caregiving for her father Arlieta was an Human Services Caseworker for the State Of Illinois Department of Human Services. Arlieta also obtained her Bachelor of Arts In Communications and has over a decade of experience in the educational and social services field. She recently wrote and performed in The Second City’s sold-out 2023 Black Excellence Revue and is now a 2023-24 Sisters in Cinema Documentary Fellow. She is currently performing comedy all around while she continues to work on the completion of “Finding Your Laughter” and other projects.

Absolutely no children are permitted to attend.
No outside food or beverage (pretzel necklaces and factory-sealed water bottles are the only exceptions and are highly encouraged).

Kristin Lytie is a stand-up comedian living in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She cut her teeth in the Chicago comedy scene and was named a “Comic to See” by the Chicago Tribune and "Comic of the Week" on the popular podcast, The Jackie and Laurie show. Kristin has opened for Eddie Pepitone, Bobcat Goldthwait, Kyle Kinane, and Laurie Kilmartin in addition to being a featured performer in the Altercation Comedy Festival (Austin, TX), Limestone Comedy Festival (Bloomington, IN), Milwaukee Comedy Festival, and many more. She recently recorded her first album, "Disassociation Vacation", live at Altercation Festival with Burn this Records out of Los Angeles. It debuted at #1 on iTunes and Amazon in April of 2024.
Kristin also hosts Bloody Mary, a podcast about horror movies. Guests range from comics to professors to organizers--all talking about their favorite horror movies!
