Event Staff: (part-time) 

Breese Stevens Field is looking for qualified, customer service oriented, and outgoing individuals to work at this premier outdoor event venue during our 2018 season. We ask that you complete our online application process prior to interviewing for any of our available positions. We are hiring various event day positions to assist with operations at Breese Stevens Field. Various events at the stadium include Madison Radicals Ultimate Frisbee, Madison 56ers soccer, Madison East High football, large-scale concerts, and various festivals/entertainment. Positions for hire include: Concessions, Bartending, Ushering, Ticketing, and Maintenance. We are willing to work around existing schedules, however ability to work Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights is a must. A perfect job for college students looking for extra summer work opportunities.

Internships:

Position: Facility & Event Management Intern

Reports to: Trygve Chinander, Director of Operations. Ava Janssen, Director of Events & Marketing

Compensation: $2,250

Start Date: Late Spring/Early Summer 2018 – Flexible

End Date: Late Summer/Early Fall 2018 – Flexible

Additional Benefits: Staff outings, meals on event days, 3 month base membership to Anytime Fitness, discount at The Shoe Box, ability to create, plan, execute and analyze your own event with approval of the Director of Events and Marketing.

 

Breese Stevens Field is seeking a full time Event Facility Management Intern. The Event Facility Management Intern will oversee all aspects of an event from set-up to take-down, in addition to being involved in various special events and taking an active role in event planning. Applicants will serve under the close supervision of the Director of Operations and assist in part-time staff management as well as the transition from event to event.

Responsibilities Include:
– Assist in getting the facility prepared for event season
-Assist scheduling and management of part-time employees
– Scheduling must consider, not only, the expected attendance per event, but also labor costs/budget and the customer service ideals and expectations/standards of Breese Stevens Field
– Work in a chain of command and work closely under the direct management of Director of Operations and Director of Events and Marketing
– Monitor daily par and production lists to ensure employees are on task and working efficiently towards daily goals
– Monitor the overall appearance and cleanliness of the concessions and bar area as well as the cleanliness of related equipment while maintaining and exceeding standards of the Department of Public Health

– Manage beverage inventory and assist in ordering of product for events
– Ensure continual upkeep of designated food stations and beverage areas
Oversee product receiving, e.g. ensuring all products are distributed and stored properly
– Monitoring and minimizing food and beverage waste
– Assist in employee training

– Flooring installation for concerts

– Become familiar with the stadium sound system as well as portable speakers

– Set up, oversee, and close smaller scale events/camps/leagues independently

– Assist Director of Events and Marketing and Director of Operations with cash handling and tracking

– Take an active role in planning and executing events at Breese Stevens Field under direct management of the Director of Events and Marketing

Required Skills:
– Creative mind set with the ability to think quickly

– Upbeat and fun personality
– Willingness to work outdoors rain or shine

Big Top Baseball is the largest and most successful summer collegiate baseball ownership group in the nation attracting more than 500,000 fans in 2017. BTB annually hires more than 50 interns for its Northwoods League franchises, the Madison Mallards, Green Bay Bullfrogs, Kenosha Kingfish, and Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, as well as several more at Breese Stevens Field. Internships run from mid-May through the completion of the season, near the end of August. Every summer the interns work directly with the management staff. Interviews will start in November and will continue until all positions are filled. All Interns must receive college credit for this internship OR this internship must qualify for a graduation requirement. All Interns will receive a housing & travel stipend for this internship. 

Position:  Marketing and Social Interaction Intern

Reports to: Ava Janssen, Director of Events & Marketing. Trygve Chinander, Director of Operations.

Breese Stevens Field is seeking a creative and energetic individual to assist in the marketing and promotional efforts. This individual will be central to creating a world class fan experience for all events held at Breese Stevens Field. The marketing intern will serve under the close supervision of the Director of Events and Marketing.

 

Responsibilities Include:
– Formulating and sending mass emails
– Updating Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages

– Updating and auditing website to ensure all information is up to date
– Creating unique and interactive material for social media
– Documenting events and uploading photos/videos
– Documenting sponsorship execution
– Responding promptly to social media interactions, emails and phone calls as well as monitoring online feedback
– Engage the crowd throughout the event and receive feedback to share with the team
– Develop positive relationships with fans, clients, and community members to help promote Breese Stevens Field
– Deliver marketing and informational materials throughout the Madison/Tenney Lapham community
– Ensure that the field is ready and looking presentable each event day
– Updating and adjusting the video board rotating slideshow to reflect the most current events and sponsorships
– Assist with sponsorship fulfillment
– Assist in planning and purchasing signage

– Responsible for planning and fulfilling promotions

– Set up, oversee, and close smaller scale events/camps/leagues independently

– Assist Director of Events and Marketing and Director of Operations with cash handling and tracking

– Take an active role in planning and executing events at Breese Stevens Field under direct management of the Director of Events and Marketing

– Flexibility on event days with tasks and position

Required Skills:

– Must be outgoing and not afraid to act crazy, get loud
– Willingness to work outdoors rain or shine

– Must be able to lift 50+ pounds

– Experience and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator is highly valued but not a requirement
